Jessica Walsh’s “Celtic Music for Flute” is a great book to come back to when reading and playing Irish traditional music. The book has over 40 traditional songs all written out plus Walsh’s variations, ready to be played. The book also comes with an audio CD of the traditional songs played by Walsh herself.

For the player who is new to Celtic music, the recording will give insights into the melodies, and it will allow the flutist who has no access to a chord instrument to hear the harmonic progressions. For those who know and love these wonderful tunes, it will be a joy to hear them played by two musicians who obviously love to play this music together.

For beginner to the joys of improvising in Celtic music, in which ornamenting and augmenting melodies is a tradition. Every tune in the book is included on the digitally mastered CD. Most of the pieces have been extended with variations, which make the tunes a more suitable length for performances and are a lot of fun for the flutist to play.

In the end if you’re looking for a great music book on traditional Irish music, Walsh’s book is the one. And if you love laments, then you’ll love Walsh’s take on it. And even if you’re not a lamentable person like me, you’ll still enjoy Walsh’s music just because she’s really good at it.

The author also provides a careful review of the flutes she uses with a detailed description of her collection of individual instruments. There is also a good amount of additional resource information included.

Mark Shepard’s wonderful edition dates back to the early years of interest in ethnic flutes here in the USA. It inspired a lot of people and has had a “cult following” for decades. Only helpful to someone who knows absolutely zero about flute playing.

This book is informative, interesting and a great aid for a beginner, and perhaps for more advanced players, as well. It is full of very interesting historical information and illustrations for wooden and bamboo flutes.

Flutes of bamboo, wood, claw, metal, and plastic are authoritatively discussed. Simple line drawings and easy-to-understand instructions enhanced and round out this first-rate, “user friendly” guide for anyone with a fondness toward simplicity in their own personal music. The book has an amazing amount of information. You can have really enjoyed learning about the flute. The book is still very good.

He provides technique, music theory, and handy reference charts. Especially suited for someone who wants to familiarize themselves with their instrument and be able to quickly start playing music. Highly recommended.

It includes recorded playbacks to practice with. I highly recommended. Get one!

I am sure that it really does lend itself as a supplement to any guitar method because the material is universal.

Overall, this is a good guitar theory book as long as you have an understanding of basic theory for beginning.

You’ve probably heard the prelude to Bach’s Cello Suite #1 in G, whether you know the title or not; it’s been in featured in many movies and advertisements. Suite #1 is absolutely gorgeous and full of emotion and absolutely worth your time to listen to – and Yo-Yo Ma plays not just the first but all six suites wonderfully on this two-disc album. I really enjoy listening to this CD at work, it offers relaxing background music and since there is only one instrument, the Cello, there isn’t a lot of novel sounds that jump in to distract me. Perfect for expectant mothers and new borns. Highly recommended.

Michael Jackson Albums (1958-2009)

Michael Jackson died Thursday (June 25th) at age 50 after arriving at UCLA Medical Center in a coma. Hundreds of fans Jacko have now gathered in front of the hospital to give a final tribute. According to the Associated Press, the King of Pop was at his rented home in Holmby Hills, California when paramedics arrived for what is being reported as cardiac arrest.

LOS ANGELES – Michael Jackson still had a faint pulse and his body was warm when his doctor found him in bed and not breathing, a lawyer for the doctor told The Associated Press on Sunday.

Edward Chernoff also said Dr. Conrad Murray never prescribed or gave Jackson the drugs Demerol or OxyContin. He denied reports suggesting Murray gave Jackson drugs that contributed to his death.

Chernoff told the AP that Murray was at the pop icon’s rented mansion on Thursday afternoon when he discovered Jackson in bed and not breathing. The doctor immediately began administering CPR, Chernoff said.
“He just happened to find him in his bed, and he wasn’t breathing,” the lawyer said. “Mr. Jackson was still warm and had a pulse.” (Yahoo.com)

Especially with the keyboard lessons, they do not want to read and do everything before trying to get something creative to play music’s.

The best keyboard music books. This book could be improved. Given all the choices for keyboard instruction available, you will get really lucky in choosing this book! After just 1-2 months, the books have got you playing with 2 hands to loads of songs. The book includes a CD for you jam along to.

The keyboard parts you are intended to play are panned to the right, so that you can hear what they’re supposed to sound like, and later pan to the left in case you no longer wish to hear them.

You can play panned to right with the intended keyboard parts. And than, you can hear and supposed to sound what you like, and later pan to the left in case you no longer wish to hear them. The books laid-back take it easy on you attitude, while teaching the reader music theory one piece at a time.

Just my opinion, I think the book could be improved. Most importantly, for the demonstrating CD is great, but the songs on the CD are too fast for absolute beginners.

Basically, If your looking for an excellent book to help you on your quest to learning how to play your keyboard and read music. Then this is the book for you. It really makes learning a fun part of the process. I liked the CD and the way this book was written.

Harry Potter Goblet

When Harry Potter’s name emerges from the Goblet of Fire, he becomes a competitor in a grueling battle for glory among three wizarding schools – the Triwizard Tournament.

In this forth instalment in the ever popular Harry Potter series based on the novel by JK Rolwling we see Harry mature in many ways, he must over come three deadly tasks, face a fully formed Lord Voldermort and possibly the most horrifying task of all for the 14 year old Harry, he must get himself a date for the Yule Ball!

Harry Potter Goblet of Fire very good movie, it does the book justice. All the characters really played out well. I liked the setting, the scenery was very fitting. It was nice seeing the book come to like and it doesn’t disappoint not one bit.

The idea of  vegetarian vampires is not new, but this presentation was very well done. All the aspects of these vampires presented ‘held together’; there was none of the wishy/washy ’straying’ from their principals which seem common for this sub-genre.

The Harry Potter movie spent most of its time on the relationship, with a sub-plot of ‘regular’ vampires feeding (on people) in the area. It could have been a better movie if the concentration on the relationships lasted throughout the movie. But, as is common these days, the last section of the movie developed into confrontation between the ‘good’ vampires and the ‘bad’ vampires.

Overall, I would call this Harry Potter Goblet movie riveting and n absolute gem of the movie world. You do not want to miss this brilliant piece of film history, no DVD collection would be complete with out it!

First, make sure it is a video that you have made and have the legal rights to share. It should be in an MPEG, Quicktime, Real, Windows, or AVI file.

Go to video.google.com and click on the “upload a video” link at the top of the screen. Now enter your Google account information. If you don’t have one, you can get one, and registration is free. Click “sign in“.

Videos under 100MBs can be uploaded directly from your browser. To upload your video file, click the browse button and find where it is on your computer. Select it and click open. Now type a title and description for your video. Both of these entries are used as keywords for people to find your video.

Next you can select a genre and a language. You can also make your video public where people can view it by a search, or you can make it unlisted which means your video will not turn up in search results. This option is particularly good if you have a family video which you can email links to your family members so they can view it.

Check the check box to agree to the terms and conditions. Now click upload video. Once it has uploaded, you can email the link to your friends or if you click the email,  blog,  post to myspace button, you can do just that.

American Idol is down to the final three contestants, but if that wasn’t reason enough for you to tune in, there’s now one more thing that is going to make  show extra special.

Perry’s songs, particularly “Ur So Gay” and “I Kissed a Girl“, have generated controversies upon their release. The songs have received reactions from religious and gay sectors. The songs have been respectively labeled as homophobic and promoting homosexuality, as well as for being “lezploitational“.

Katy Perry had to cancel her show in Santa Barbara, CA on Saturday night due to the wildfires that are ravaging the beautiful beach community. The “I Kissed a Girl” singer took to her blog to write about having to scrap the performance in her hometown and posted a picture of the fire that one of her friends took and sent to her.
